Beware of experts bearing forecasts

May 22, 2018

There are two types of forecasters: those who can’t forecast and those who don’t know they can’t forecast. Listening to forecasts can be very dangerous but investors love to do it. In fact many investors assume that this is a major task that they pay their advisors to do. In my experience it is a very counterproductive activity. I would much rather create a long-term strategic plan and stick to this long-term strategy as opposed to changing plans based on someone’s short-term forecast.

This article gives some great insight on this topic.

You’re invited

January 16, 2018

We’d love to have you join us for our new workshop on Tuesday January 30th from 12:00pm to 1:00pm.

This session is geared towards those who took a lump sum from their Nortel Pension. We will be presenting a case study of an investor who took a lump sum commuted value payment in the past that shows how to create income from your LIRA or LIF to last a lifetime. We’ll also help you understand what an advisor can do for you.

A light lunch will be served.

Please contact Erin Boudreault at 613.271.6675 or to RSVP today.
